Set in a modern time (2013/2014) the film is headed by star Jon Favreau as he plays Carl Casper a head chef at a great restaurant. The backdrop is used as a character as well as the use of vibrant Miami Florida helps build the story later on. Soon Carl is visited by Ramsey Michel played by (Oliver Platt ) and we have the story told to us about how Carl used to be a trend setting and passionate Chef willing to take risks on his food. How ever this critic Ramsey longs for the old days and takes carl apart. Soon Carl uses this as a springboard to finally take a risk, he decides to buy a used taco truck and turn it into a business. The movie is a heartwarming adventure of Carl casper growing as a person, followed by beautifully done cinematography; The kind that makes the food seemingly leap off the screen and make you wish you could eat it. Also by using the music, and watching them travel to place to place in a viral campaign to make his tacos known. Don’t expect too much drama involved which makes the film light-hearted and fit. Sometimes films can try and do “too much” and that leaves you wondering was this really needed? This is the kind of film that leaves you smiling, tapping your feet and hungry!
I don't know what it is about movie and television series reviews but I am quite the sucker for them. I guess I want to know if others thought anything similar to what I was thinking when I watched the film or show. Your blog layout is simple and user friendly, which is awesome. Another thing I like about this blog is that the movies being reviewed aren't overrated or too mainstream. My favorite part of this blog though is the "trailer of the day" section. That is something to look forward to every time I check this blog out. Solid start, keep it up man.
ReplyDeleteThis movie seems like it is right up my ally, considering I have a cooking blog. Good review all around, set the tone of the movie. You let us know, as the readers, that this movie is lighthearted and upbeat. Food can do that for you! You have answered my question from my other comment, as this is a recent moving. Looking forward to the next one.
ReplyDeleteYeah, thanks this is an awesome movie. I try to do a mix of movies from all different genres and time frames. But this was such a cool movie, nothing too heavy but sometimes that's a nice things depending on the mood your in when you want to watch a certain type of mood.
